Canon Europe becomes a partner for three years

Canon Europa entered into a three-year partnership with the Van Gogh Museum. The company will provide funding plus expertise in the field of digital imaging.

Digital applications
The Van Gogh Museum is increasingly employing innovative digital programmes and instruments to bring scientific and educational projects to the attention of a wide public. An innovative partner such as Canon Europe – one of the market leaders in the field of digital imaging, and with products such as photo and video equipment, scanners and All-in-Ones for consumers and professional photographers - can provide the museum with useful knowledge and expertise in the further development of these activities.

‘The match between the two organisations is clear’, declared Adriaan Dönszelmann, managing director of the Van Gogh Museum.’Canon has a strong international reputation and is active in more than 180 countries. The Van Gogh Museum has a large target group of foreign visitors and also aims its presentations specifically at other countries, such Japan, Canon’s home base.’ Rokus van Iperen, president & CEO of Canon Europe, added: ‘Canon believes in the power of the image and the Van Gogh Museum is all about the impact which images, specifically paintings, have on viewers. The Van Gogh Museum is a leading museum, not just in the Netherlands but also globally. So we are very proud of this partnership.’
