New acquisitions featuring Loïe Fuller

The Van Gogh Museum has enriched its collection of works on paper with two new acquisitions featuring the American dancer Loïe Fuller (1862-1928): a coloured lithograph by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and an art book written by Roger Marx with illustrations by Pierre Roche. The Van Gogh Museum owns a substantial collection of work by other nineteenth-century artists. Some were contemporaries and friends of Van Gogh, such as Paul Gauguin and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, others masters he admired, such as Léon Lhermitte and Jean-François Millet. Many of these works were collected by the Van Gogh brothers. The museum has continued to expand this collection with acquisitions and loans from other cultural organisations.
