Time to relax!

The ‘after work’ campaign proves a great success

The Van Gogh at work exhibition inspired the museum to launch an ‘after work’ campaign. This allowed visitors to the exhibition to receive a free drink in a ‘café of the month’ on presentation of their admission ticket.

The Van Gogh Museum had asked seven cafés at walking distance from the museum to participate in the scheme, which began in June with Café Gruter, a brown café with a large terrace on Willemsparkweg. The next establishment was the renowned Café Luxembourg on the Spui, in the heart of the city. In August it was the turn of Café ZOUK, in Oud-West, a cosy neighbourhood of small streets and houses; in September the scheme featured Café Wildschut on Roelof Hartplein. Café de Toog in Nicolaas Beetsstraat took over in October, followed by Café de Pijp in Ferdinand Bolstraat in November. The campaign concluded with Café Gollem in Daniël Stalpertstraat.

The campaign was a great success. Many visitors took advantage of the scheme and the participating cafés judged it a successful initiative.
